Eleocharis acicularis is a species of spikes edge known by the common names needle spikerush.  It is a fast growing species with long, light green and grass-like leaves which easily form a dense carpet. It spreads with numerous runners that will in a short time form an ideal environment for spawning fish to lay their eggs. It requires medium to high level of light.
