Heteranthera zosterifolia is from South America and is an extremely beautiful plant. Forms a lot of side shoots, so it has dense, bushy growth. It is often called ‘stargrass’. In strong light growth is intensive and the plant responds well to being pruned before it becomes so compact. If it’s allowed to grow along the surface, the plant often produces beautiful blue flowers. This plant is popularly used in both Dutch and Nature Aquarium style layouts.
